As manufacturers of consumer goods, CECED members are particularly committed to ensuring that consumers enjoy a high level of service and a fair level of protection as they purchase appliances.
On top of investing in innovative efficient and sustainable technologies, companies spend a lot of their time and money in developing quality and durable goods in response to an ever growing demand from consumers.
CECED is closely following development in the EU consumer policy, in particular with regard to the rights associated to the sale of goods to consumers. Directive 199/44/EC sets the framework protection rules for consumers. It was recently complemented by the Directive 2011/83/EU which provides a uniform harmonised framework that facilitates online shopping whose share is increasingly growing for EU citizens.
