ATLETE I and ATLETE II are projects financed by the European Commission within the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme where CECED is one or the key Project Partners.
Currently there are eleven project partners that form part of the ATLETE Consortium.
ATLETE I ran from 2009 to 2011 and focused on testing refrigerators and freezers. The purpose was to increase European-wide implementation and control of energy labelling and ecodesign implementing measures for appliances. The developed, validated methodology is applicable with very minor adaptations for any Energy-using Products (EuP).
ATLETE is designed to demonstrate that market surveillance and testing can be done in a systematic, effective and cost-efficient way, thus helping to transform the market to ensure the highest benefit for consumers, manufacturers and the environment.
ATLETE II evaluates energy labeling and ecodesign of washing machines, the second most important appliance in European households. It started in 2012 and is due to be concluded by end of October 2014. For the first time in the EU, models are being tested tested under the new Energy Labelling Regulations.
Working closely with Market Surveillance Authorities, ATLETE II helps Member States improve their control of labelling and ecodesign implementation measures.
