eCl@ss is an international standard for the classification of products and materials.
For white goods and small domestic devices, eCl@ss has been relying on long-time cooperation with the PI-Certified Standard, as the PI-Certified Standard is considered to be the European standard for household appliances.
CECED ensures that eCl@ss is fully aligned with the PI-Certified Standard by being actively involved in the eCl@ss expert group on household appliances (Segment 29). The Segment 29 expert group is responsible for deciding which household appliances and characteristics are integrated into eCl@ss. The expert group also includes representatives from ETIM, the product information standard for electrical and electronic products. Consequently, through eCl@ss, the ETIM standard is in alignment with the PI-Certified Standard.
A new version of the eCl@ss standard is released at the end of each year. For the latest version, please visit eCl@ss website.
