A response to Europe's energy challenge

energy 2

The household appliance industry in Europe continues to make a significant contribution reducing energy consumption.

The challenge: replacing old equipment with energy efficient appliances.

Over many years, the industry has contributed to driving down household energy consumption by placing within the Single European Market innovative appliances that consume less energy.

The most important impact of a household appliance occurs during the use phase. Policies governing appliances, such as the ecodesign and energy labelling, focus on this important consideration.

This section provides a summary/overview of the household appliance industry's contribution to Europe’s energy challenge as well as information relating to current policy developments.
