CECED is closely following development in the EU consumer policy, in particular with regard to the rights associated to the sale of goods to consumers. Directive 199/44/EC sets the framework protection rules for consumers. It was recently complemented by the Directive 2011/83/EU which provides a uniform harmonised framework that facilitates online shopping whose share is increasingly growing for EU citizens.
