On 18th February 2014, five household appliance manufacturer associations from across the globe gathered in Brussels to create the International Roundtable of Household Appliance Manufacturer Associations (IRHMA).

The objective of IRHMA is to provide an informal forum within which the household appliance industry can discuss global challenges and issues and share knowledge.

For the period 2014-2015, the Roundtable has agreed a plan of activities focused around five themes: data gathering, policy incentives for products, market surveillance, smart appliances and environmental footprinting.
