Standby and Network Standby

The ecodesign Regulation on standby requirements was published in 2009. The first tier of requirements on the off-mode of power consumption of products under the scope started on 7th January 2010.

In 2013 the European Commission published an amendment to the above regulation. This amendment sets new requirements on network standby as well as on the horizontal power management for coffee machines.

In July 2015, in view of the revision of this regulation, the Commission launched a preparatory study to assess the possibility to have more stringent requirements and to reassess the scope. This study is carried out by Viegand Maagøe, the consultant in charge and is expected to finish by April 2016. For more information, please refer to the website of the study.
